Are you blocking money flow in your biz?

In 2018, I began working with my first ever coach.

It was the biggest investment I’d made in my practice and I committed to doing everything that she told me to do to grow my practice.

Until I didn’t want to.

About a month in, she suggested that I send an email updating all of my colleagues about my practice, my refined niche, my new website, etc.

I was flabbergasted that she would ask me to do such a thing.

I would rather have been stuck in a 7 hour car ride with my ex’s mother. That speaks volumes if you know me on a personal level.

But my coach was simply asking me to take up space.

She was encouraging me to share what I was up to with people in my circle. That’s it.

Instead, I heard:

“I’m going to annoy people. They already know that I’m a therapist.”

“They are going to think I’m desperate for clients and pity me.”

Please don’t make me do this. I’ll do anything else.

I kicked and screamed. I procrastinated. I “forgot”

This is a prime example of blocking money.

You block money:

When you don’t share what clients you love working with.

When you don’t share information about the group that you are going to run.

When you refuse to allow a  “friend” or “colleague” to pay the full fee for your supervision services

When you minimize the transformations that you enable with colleagues

I finally sent the email. And years later, I can say that I’ve received an abundance of connections & money flow from doing so. A rekindled connection. A strong referral source and a long-term client of my dreams here and there. A collaborative workshop.

What money blocking inaction are you committed to overcoming? What one action could you take this week?
